Estimate how much electricity your pool pump uses and what that operation may cost per day, active month, pool season, or year. Enter the pump’s electrical input, runtime, schedule, and electricity rate; optional pool volume and flow values add a circulation estimate.
Pool Pump Energy Cost Calculator
Estimate electricity use from actual pump input watts, runtime, and your electricity rate.
Estimated pump electricity cost
- Per operating day
- Average active month
- Energy
- Operating days
- Estimated turnovers
- Comparison
Estimate based on entered pump use and electricity rate. Horsepower alone is not a reliable electrical-input value.
How the estimate works
The calculator converts watts to kilowatts, multiplies by daily runtime and the selected operating schedule, then applies the electricity rate you provide. Compare a second pump or schedule using the same rate and pool context. Values from My Pool are optional browser-local prefills and remain editable.
What the result can and cannot tell you
- Energy and cost are planning estimates based on the inputs you enter.
- Actual pump draw can vary by speed, plumbing resistance, filter condition, and equipment configuration.
- A circulation estimate is not proof of complete mixing, filtration performance, or safe water.
- Use measured electrical input and flow data when they are available.
